I designed a poster that was not to be used within a commercial space, but to reflect a social community. I took pictures of my surrounding environment to get inspiration and generate a topic before sketching. While sketching I chose to display the design as panels to emphasize a separation that would later be connected through the performance part of the piece. I felt that none of the typefaces available could display the high-energy nature of these events and as a result, I created two unique fonts. The design emphasizes the lively environment of the local band scene within Normal/Bloomington Illinois; while the string connected by 11 different individuals emphasizes the connection within the community.
