Typography portrait

I had someone take portrait images of me from various angles. After I chose the photo, I thought was best and brought it into Illustrator. I used the typefaces Futura and Sabon in this composition as my two pairings. I felt that I could create more definition with the serifs of Sabon rather than a slab serif like Rockwell. Rockwell is more angular and too similar to Futura in that it looks more “machined with” and angular. I used the Gestalt Principles to better create the shapes and contours of my face without using a piece of type for every little detail. Although I was allowed to stretch the type, I decided against it since I wanted to keep the type as natural as possible.
